Thanks to the Neo Quantum Processor and the advancements in picture technology and sound it delivers, 2022 Neo QLED will provide some of the most pristine images and immersive soundscapes possible. Four new features are added compared to the 2021 model.
Real Depth Enhancer
3-dimensional depth with powerful neural networks
- Real Depth Enhancer mirrors how the human eye processes depth by increasing foreground contrast making your content feel more life-like than ever.
- It is a multi-intelligence picture quality algorithm. This technological advancement creates a greater sense of realism by determining and processing an object on the screen against its background to create a sense of depth.
- You will experience depth and dimension on your screen just like you do in real life.
Dolby Atmos and Object Tracking Sound
Dolby Atmos experience with top channel speakers
- Neo QLED’s sound features are getting a major upgrade as well. It now supports Dolby Atmos format.
- 2022 Neo QLED delivers a truly remarkable Dolby Atmos experience thanks to the addition of Samsung’s new top channel speakers. With multi-channel speakers placed throughout the TV, Neo QLED delivers a dynamic sound experience that tracks the actions from all corners.
- Building on OTS (Object Tracking Sound), which directs the sound to move across the room along with the object on-screen, the 2022 products will feature OTS Pro, which incorporates powerful up-firing speakers to create overhead surround sound.
- You experience vividly realistic 3D sound that puts you in the middle of the action with OTS.
- In addition, Dolby Atmos built right in, hear the rain from above and the explosion from beyond the strategically placed speakers behind the screen.
14 bits processing light source
Next-Generation Picture Quality
- This year’s Neo Quantum Processor introduces advanced contrast mapping with BLU (back-light unit), increasing the brightness level from 12 to 14-bit gradation for greater control of the light source. This allows the TV to control its lighting across 16,384 steps, quadrupled from the previous 4,096 steps.
- Greater precision is possible. The TV can better control the panel and backlight, creating a higher contrast image while concurrently showing more detail.
EyeComfort Mode

What is Neo QLED?
The era of Neo QLED technology continues at Getit
Neo QLED is also known as Mini LED. The branding "Neo" is referring to the new panel backlighting technology that Samsung is using to further improve picture quality in 2021.
Conventional LEDs consist of bulky packaging to protect the LEDs and lenses to guide the light sources.
Samsung’s new Neo QLED technology, however, removes both the packaging and lens, leaving only the LED chip.
This enables the LEDs to be extremely small (microscopic, in fact), It is tremendously reduced to 1/40 smaller than a conventional LED pixel size.
Samsung Neo QLED at the same time applies an ultra-thin micro-layer in this new panel design to accurately guide the tiny LEDs’ light to where it needs to go. This prevents light from leaking into areas of the picture where it isn’t supposed to be (minimize traditional LED blooming issues)
This results in deeper black levels and brighter white highlights.

Q-Symphony 2.0
Inaugurated in 2020, the Q-Symphony function will evolve in 2022 with version 2.0. The latter, in addition to an optimized synchronization between the speakers of the soundbar and the television, allows the Wireless Atmos mode.
Now, via such a configuration, there is no need for an optical or HDMI connector to enjoy 3D Dolby Atmos sound.
